Wedding hacks are here to save the day! Are you constantly thinking about your wedding day hoping it runs smoothly? Of course every bride would like their day to be perfect, some occasions could arise, but here are a few wedding hacks you might not know about that could save you time, money, and unforgettable experiences.
If your wedding venue is outdoor, I highly suggest you get yourself an insect repellent. There’s a spray version of it. You don’t want those mosquitoes to bite you during your special day, and make you itch. It is also necessary to ask the lead person of that specific venue if it’s mosquito season to be sure.
If you are having your ceremony on the grass, then my tip for you is to use heel stoppers. It’s a rubber type of material at the back of the heel that you can put that will help you from sinking into the grass. What a good invention! It’s best to use this especially if your heels are thin and one of my favorite wedding hacks.
It is very important that we protect the girls. There are some dresses that have a built-in bra, but if yours doesn’t, it is possible to actually get bra inserts to protect your girls. Make sure that it is seamless, especially if you are wearing a backless dress. Also, if you easily get sun burns, then wearing outfits with sleeves or straps a few days before the wedding is not advisable. You don’t want to get tan lines, and have it exposed during your wedding day.
If ever you get your dress stained during your wedding day, and you want to cover it up, then you have three options. You can use chalk, a bar of soap or baby powder. It will help not see so much of the stain during photos.
If your wedding venue has slippery floors, then getting yourself a sole protector is a must to prevent you from having accidents during your wedding day. It’s actually a sticker that goes at the bottom of your shoes. It’s a rough material that will prevent you from falling or slipping.
Have your maid of honor get you a small bag or pouch with your lipstick, eyelash glue, bug repellent, or anything that you need in between, and hide it in your area. For sure, nobody will know! This will be a good tip if you have tables covered with linens. It will absolutely hide the pouch of goods. If it’s a bare table, then having a small cosmetic bag that can be tucked in a pot, or any area near your table that can hide it.
Avoid food that will make you bloat. You don’t want to feel ill before your wedding, so if there’s something that will make your stomach sick, then stay away from those. You can stay away from dairy a few days prior to your wedding day.
This is by far the best wedding hack tip throughout this blog. Veils can be such a hassle as well since it randomly flies and covers your face because of the wind as you walk down the aisle since it’s too light. There are two ways to eliminate that problem. First is to have your hair stylist do a vertical braid at the back, near the crown, and have the veil inserted there. Another tip is to find small magnetic weights. It should be small enough that people can’t see that you can have it sewn onto the veil so it won’t fly randomly anymore.
I always advise my brides to get a foam cake as a fake cake with a certain portion that is real, so that during picture time, it looks real as you slice it. The real one is at the back, where the catering team is slicing or cutting for you and your guests. This is going to be easier, and less time consuming.
If you are not collecting your RSVP’s online, and you decide to do it the old school way by sending cards to your guests, then numbering the rsvp card at the back, and correspond that number in an excel sheet with the name of the guests so you could track them better. In that way, if that specific guest doesn’t write their name, or doesn’t confirm their attendance, you will know who that person is. You may use an invisible ink for this so guests won’t see it.
I hope all these wedding hacks help you plan your wedding better! In this, your life as a bride will be a lot easier and stress-free! If you’d like to read more about these awesome tips, here is a suggested blog I wrote about saving money for the budget friendly bride.
