Are you recently engaged? Congratulations!!! I am sure this is such an exciting time for you and your parter and you can’t wait to start wedding planning, but not sure where to start. Perhaps you need some guidance on what you should do to plan your wedding? Don’t worry, I’ve got you! Here are my top 10 steps to plan your wedding!
Talk about the budget you are willing to spend for your wedding together with your spouse. Also, identify who else among your family members or friends will add money to the budget. Also, talk about how you will distribute the budget. It is very important to cover this first before anything else.
Talk about the season you want to get married with your fiance. Consider your availability based on your occupation, and the season that is more cost-efficient.
It is very important that you list the guests who you truly want to invite and to spend for your wedding. Your budget will be based on your guest count. Before even contacting any professional or a vendor, you must be able to finalize your guest count first. Remember that the higher the guest count, the more expensive it will get.
Together with your fiance, choose a theme that will represent your love story, and it should be reflected on the color palette, to the decorations, and all over the venue, program and the materials. Choose something that will make your day very special and memorable.
Know that to have a wedding party is not necessary. I have clients who didn’t have a wedding party. Also, it doesn’t have to be strict in gender. It should be based on relationships. Keep in mind that the more wedding parties you have, the harder it is to manage and plan.
Once you have finalized the budget and the guest count, it’s time to search for your venue. Look for a venue that will compliment your style and vibe. This is one of the hardest parts of planning a wedding, but once you have booked your venue already, the rest will be a lot easier. The venue will get the most percentage of your budget, so don’t go over it.
Don’t forget to hire your planner, caterer, DJ, etc. Once you start hiring a certain professional, make sure you screen them. Make sure they are the ones who have been doing the job for a long time already, and have ample experience, so you are assured that you won’t get any problems along the way. Make sure you have your vendor team as soon as possible!
Decide on a specific meal plan that you want to serve to your guests and to yourself. Besides the venue, both food and beverage is one of the vendors that will get a huge percentage from your budget. Some of the vendors have a minimum purchase order, and some don’t. So ensure that you research thoroughly on your caterer.
This is very critical. These are the people who will capture your special day, so it is very important that you hire the best one that will fit your style and desire. It is important to hire them separately to ensure that every important moment is captured. Don’t just hire one of each. For photographers, hire at least two. At the end of the day, this is something that you will look back to.
Choose an attire that you want and comfortable wearing. Ensure that it is aligned and ready to go six to eight weeks before your wedding day to have that alteration done.
And there you have it, here are all the tips that will absolutely help you plan your wedding! I hope this adds value to you and if it did please be sure to check out this next article The Best Way To Create Your Guest List, that I think will also be very helpful.
